2) Hangout on Lake Superior
If you can believe it Lake Superior freezes over! Well, sometimes. Every few years the winter gets cold enough for the vast lake to freeze over. That combined with little wind makes the largest skating rink in the world. 3) Tour Bentleyville
One of the most popular holiday traditions in Duluth is to visit Bentleyville. This light display is one of the largest in the country and has won multiple awards for its beauty. The space is free to the public and offers great gifts for children including a free beanie and the chance to meet Santa! No matter your age Bentleyville is an item you definitely won’t want to miss. 4) Go Iceskating on one of Duluth’s outdoor rinks
As one of the big hockey towns in the nation, you shouldn’t be surprised to hear that Duluth has a plethora of outdoor hockey rinks littered across the town.
